Akhilesh Singh, PhD

Akhilesh is a Principal Scientist in Research at GentiBio. Prior to joining GentiBio, Akhilesh was Senior Scientist in David Rawlings lab at Seattle Children’s Research Institute, Seattle. There, he developed various in vivo models to investigate the efficacy of engineered Tregs and led proof of principle studies for GNTI-122 T1D program. Akhilesh brings deep experience in immune regulation, autoimmunity, gene editing, in vivo modelling, and mucosal immunology. He also published several articles focusing on host pathogen interaction and immune regulation. He also studied BRCA2 protein and its interaction with DNA repair pathway at Yale University. He earned his Ph.D. on viral immune evasion strategies from National Center for Cell Science, Pune, India. Outside of work, he enjoys traveling and hiking.
