Associate Scientist I/II Contractor, Discovery
Summary
GentiBio is seeking a collaborative and motivated Associate Scientist I/II Contractor to join our Discovery team in Cambridge, MA. The successful candidate will design, optimize and execute in vitro studies to characterize engineered T regulatory (EngTreg) cells to support our early-stage programs. This role offers exposure to leadership and an exciting opportunity to be a high-impact trailblazer in the emerging field of regulatory T-cell therapy.
Responsibilities
- Engineer EngTreg cell prototypes using CRISPR/Cas9-based approaches and tissue cul-ture workflows for downstream characterization.
- Work cross-functionally to design, execute, and document in vitro assays that charac-terize EngTreg cell phenotype, function, and overall program performance.
- Evaluate phenotype and functionality of CAR EngTreg constructs using multicolor flow cytometry and complementary cell-based assays.
- Utilize Excel, PowerPoint, GraphPad Prism, Flowjo, and ELN for data entry, analysis, and presentation.
- Communicate and present findings to scientific team and management.
- Track and compile results in an electronic notebook, maintaining clear, complete, and timely records of laboratory work.
- Foster the culture of seeking and giving help, inclusion, authenticity, and fun.
Qualifications & Education
- BS in a related field with 0–5 years of experience or MS in a related field with 0–2 years of relevant industry experience.
- Hands-on experience with multicolor flow cytometry, including panel execution, data acquisition, and analysis is required.
- Experience with tissue culture and immune cell assays, including ELISA, PCR, and cell-based functional assays is required.
- Experience engineering primary immune cells or T cells using CRISPR/Cas9 or related gene-editing technologies is strongly preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and demonstrated ability to execute experiments with rigor and maintain clear and complete records of lab work.
- Evidence of critical thinking and the ability to devise a plan beyond the immediate ex-periment.
- Exceptional teamwork and communication skills with the ability to embrace change and multitask in a fast-growing environment.
